Dazzal , Those are needle threaders. You feed thread into the hole then push the pointy end through the eye of a needle. They are great for people who find threading needles difficult. How about this device - seam ripper ^ click

My Mom did too MisterNostalgic, she was always repairing or creating things on her sewing machine. I wish I had that talent.

And this is where used razor blades were disposed of. Many people today freak out when they renovate their old bathrooms and a huge pile of razor blades spill out of the wall... ^ ^ Click to expand images

Dazzal, a girl at work had her bathroom renovated and she was shocked and unnerved to see piles of razor blades behind her medicine cabinet wall. She thought some crazy killer or Satan worshipper had lived there. LOL.

I remember those old razors. I never knew people would dispose of razor blades behind the medicine cabinet wall. That is just weird.

I know MisterNostalgic but if you ever see an old medicine cabinet look for the slot and you'll know that was put there for the disposal of used razor blades. I guess back then they thought that was the safest way to dispose of sharp items. I also have two vintage straight razors from my grandfather. One has an ivory handle and the other tortoise shell. The blades are heavily coated in rust but I think they could be restored.

I still have a couple of those old handheld bottle openers MisterNostalgic. We used to have that crank handle one attached to a cabinet in our kitchen when I was a child. I remember it swung out when you used it then swung back flat against the cabinet when you were done with it.

Great memories. I can't post pictures or I would post some of the things we have here. A lot of that stuff we have. The medicine cabinets with the razor blade slots, the straight razors, old black desk phone with the rotary dial. And lots of other old things. This house is 105 years old, and still has every single item that was ever brought into it. lol, Thanks everybody for the memories.
