If you are going to other's (Brother/Grandma/Mom/Sister, etc.) house for Thanksgiving, do you still cook a turkey at home?

I Chose: We Do Our Thanksgiving A Couple Days Later!
Because, it's quite festive to have our own TG dinner at home, a couple of days later. We always loved the leftovers, when my belated husband was here.

I picked: Love My Turkey At Home. I always enjoy having leftovers. I always enjoyed spending time with family at Thanksgiving.

For many years I have gone to my besties house the night before Thanksgiving and we chop, peal and assemble all the sides, it's our fun holiday ritual. Things are up in the air this year as she is recovering from surgery. We might just cater and it will just be her and her daughter and myself for a quiet, fuss free dinner on Thanksgiving, no other company or family.

That way all of you can relax and really enjoy the holiday. I am not sure what I am going to do yet?

I voted "other": We go to our neighbor's home every year (along with 6 other couples). Each year I make the sweet potato casserole. Everyone brings "something". The hosts do all the veggies, gravy, stuffing, and of course, the turkey! I'll follow up with 'our own turkey dinner' sometime "soon" after Thanksgiving!

We are supposed to go to my moms' but if the pass is not passable we will stay home. If the weather is bad we will stay home. This year I just want to be home though. We are always the ones that have to travel. It is not fun going over the pass here. Trucks are so dangerous anymore.

I think I know what I am going to do for "Thanksgiving." Since our Golden Corral has good food, I'm going Wednesday night for my TG meal. They will have turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad bar and my sugar-free dessert. It's Senior night on Wednesdays. $13. Then, on the actual holiday, I will have chicken salad and some other snacks. Sparkling Cider. I will watch "The National Dog Show" and football.
There, it worked out!

Glad it all worked out, Dazzal. And at a great price! Awesome they have sugar free dessert, as well.
One of my daughters is going out of town.
My favorite aunt, who lives in the Chicago area now, is visiting and staying with an old friend of hers.
I am going to visit her one day during the week of Thanksgiving.
So even if we don't share the meal, it will be wonderful to see her.
